My venue wish list and why I want to do weddings there
Over the past almost 8 years of being a celebrant I have been to A LOT of wedding venues, like a lot. But I have also NOT been to a lot. It’s one of the most exciting and best things about being a celebrant - the variety and difference experiences I get to have with each couple I marry. I’ll do another blog on the venues I love but for now - here is my wish list for all the venues I’d love to do a wedding at! AND if you keep reading to the end, there will be a surprise for you!
North
Ok so at the absolute top of my list is Kantara House. Based on the Central Coast, Kantara House is a premium luxury venue that offers all sorts of packages and can host up to 140 guests. Now as a wedding celebrant, I am so in love with their chapel. Chapels are a great idea because its weather friendly. It does not matter if its boiling hot, windy or pouring with rain, your ceremony will be perfect. No need for a plan B!
I am absolutely going Gagagagagag for Chapel Ridge. I want to do a ceremony at this venue for the same reason as Kantara House - the chapel! I mean LOOK at those windows!! Based in the lower Hunter, about an hours drive from Sydney, Chapel Ridge is luxury and country all at the same time. My kind of vibe for sure!
What’s with all the northern venues having chapels?? I love it! The chapel at Greystone is a little different though, it’s more less enclosed then the other two above so it still gives the feel of being outside….at least that’s what I assume! If you book me as your celebrant, I can confirm then! HA!
Glamping, private valley and a farm. If festival vibes is what you’re into, this Central Coast wedding venue is it. I’d love to see this property in the flesh!
Northern Beaches Restaurants
If a relaxed, chilled, beach vibe is your thing, Dunes at Palm Beach is the place to go. I’ve noticed that a lot of my couples are leaning more in the restaurant vibe, with many of them starting at 12pm for a lunch time party instead. I am so down for that! I think it’s a great idea to maximise your day if you’re big into celebrations! Dunes is on my list because I want to see the sunset over Palm Beach and I really enjoy that white washed beach vibe in summer!
Jonah’s is the same as Dunes - it over looks Palm Beach and has an epic 180 degree view of the ocean. Jonah’s is a hotel as opposed to Dunes which is a restaurant. I don’t get to the northern beaches much so I’ve got to add a few venues to my list :p
South Coast
My home away from home is Mollymook so I am very keen to explore some south coast venues. I love what the ranch can offer to couples - either moody rainforest, sandy beach or lake views - such a good combination and can accommodate 40 guests and host 180 at the reception.
I am keen to visit this winery for the same reason as the Ranch. But what I love about this property is that its purpose built for weddings, there’s a great all-weather ceremony area and it’s absolutely stunning. I’d love to MC in their big reception room - la la loveeeeee a chapel/barn vibe.
12+ ceremony locations! Yes, that’s right, more than 12! I’ll have to marry 12 couples to do a wedding in all spots!
Now this venue has been on my list for years. I still can’t believe I am yet to do a wedding there! I am now mostly curious to check it out.
Southern
I’ve recently come across this venue. Think British country side manor, 2.5 hours south of Sydney. It’s a luxury farmhouse that can be hired for weddings! Plenty of ceremony options available too!
This is a new venue, like literally, just opened. It’s uniquely Australian in location and setting and it is STUNNING….from every photo I have devoured!
So that’s my current venue wish list. I love helping couples get to the alter and marrying them in their dream location. If one of the above venues is your dream location then let’s chat! To sweeten the deal, if you book me as your celebrant and/or MC, I’ll waive any travel fees and offer a 10% discount off my celebrant fee!
Who’s keen?
